Textile Workshop, MR and Editorial Board

1. What are you currently working on?

"Luckily, I am still able to enter the workshop where I have been making lots of samples which help me explain to students how to prepare and execute projects. Next to this I also prepare and attend Zoom-meetings of the MR and Editorial Board."

2. What has changed for you now that the Rietveld buildings are closed for classes and meetings?
"I miss the students and I miss the energy that comes when people experiment and materialize their ideas. I now focus on visualizing often raised questions instead of explaining questions raised by individual students."

3. And what is staying the same?

"Our material experimentation and our search for ways to make our knowledge accessible to students."

4. Do you have a tip for our students, staff or alumni to make these isolating times a little but more joyful?

"I would recommend learning something new. Check out online tutorials and spend some time practicing something you always wanted to get into but never found the time. Doesn’t have to be Rietveld-related."
