Never home anyways, Steinarr Ingólfsson
Sleeping in and staying up late. Netflix binging flat on one’s stomach. Dinner at one’s desk. Afterparty in one’s room. Sex with lovers or strangers. Getting dressed in the morning and undressing in the evening. Rainy days and rough periods, cosy times and lazy Sundays. The sheer joy of receiving pizza deliveries. This is the bedroom, a potential platform for all things private and social. Through three years in Amsterdam I’ve inhabited, decorated and left five rooms, big and small, from centers to suburbs, through long term and short terms. Each room has in one way or another portrayed me and my experience within it. Now this travel story is retold in the way that best suits it, through a room and it’s content.
