Urgent Ecologies wants to breathe new life into the Material Give & Take*, formerly known as the Wunderkammer. It’s a cabinet where students and staff can leave materials or items they no longer need, and freely take anything they find useful. This is a collective effort, with the facilities team also helping to keep the cabinets stocked. Our goal is to minimize the amount of valuable and usable materials that end up in waste containers for processing by our waste management company. While a large portion of these sorted materials is being recycled, we prefer to keep the loop much smaller.
To launch the Material Give & Take, we’re looking for 1 teacher, lecturer or workshop specialist, either from Rietveld or Sandberg, with ideas to host a class, lecture, or workshop that utilizes the Give & Take in any way.
