For the third time, Fonds Kwadraat will organize a Speed Date, this time at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie on Tuesday, April 16. This event is all about meeting and connecting between artists and professionals in the art world, and open to both Rietveld & Sandberg alums (2019 - 2023) and current graduating students (2024). We will start at 14:30 sharp and finish with drinks until 16:30.

25 Artists and 25 Art Enthusiasts/Professionals will Speed Date in four rounds of ten minutes. Themes that will be discussed are PR & marketing, the business side of your art practice, fundraising and financing of projects, and continuing education, such as postgraduate courses and residencies. This event offers all alums the opportunity to expand their network and share ideas in an inspiring, informal environment.

For whom

Alums who graduated 1 to 5 years ago from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie or the Sandberg Instituut and current graduating students can register for the Speed Date via the Open Call. The art professionals participating will include (former) museum directors, collectors, artists, alums, and professionals in the field of marketing & communication, among others.

 

About Fonds Kwadraat

Fonds Kwadraat has been providing interest-free loans to talented artists, designers, and photographers since 1971. Founded in the idealistic 1970s, the mission of Fonds Kwadraat is more urgent than ever. Subsidies are decreasing and artists are looking for other ways to finance their work. Providing interest-free loans, the foundation stimulates the economic independence of artists and their cultural entrepreneurship.

You can register until April 2, before noon, by sending a short motivation of a paragraph to gcrouwel[at]fondskwadraat.nl. You will receive a message from us by April 4 whether you can participate in the Speed Date. The event is free of charge.
