Isabella Zwaan has won the Overduinprijs 2023 (Overduin Prize 2020) with her graduation work. This prize from the Henk en Ria Overduinfonds Foundation has been awarded annually since 1992 to a promising young artist. This is the seventh year that the prize has gone to a graduate of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
The organisation says: "Isabella Zwaan has won the 2023 Overduin Prize with her untitled graduation project. Isabella Zwaan, a student in the Image and Language department, created an exotic collection of objects found on the street and flowers strung into jewellery. The jury was impressed by her eye for detail and the versatility of her work, which stimulates curiosity."
