'TRIEBSPIEL (die kammer) is a 22’ silent film exploring narrative modes of violence and complicities. Departing from a forged news report about an incident of gender-reversed assault from the early 2010s, the film fictionalizes and expands this narrative.

After a failed robbery of a hair salon, the robber finds himself in the hands of the
hairdresser. Quickly, an unforeseen spiral of violence develops, dragging the hairdresser, the robber and two witnesses into the depths of the human psyche.

Treating the polarized online reactions to the report as an involuntary parable, the film explores psychological drama, spectacle, and sensationalism. It critically examines the categorization of violence through public narration, personal bias, and subjecthood, emphasizing their pivotal role in moral interpretation.
