Thesis: A Trail of Traces. How the World Becomes a Memory Bank.
Echoes of the Gaze is an installation that explores repetition, framing and variation of one photograph. Each space invites a different method of viewing suggested by. Changes in scale, color, paper types, and framing. The viewer can linger a moment. Taking time to reflect, to look closely and examine these images.
In the first room, a large black-and-white image print in four parts, invites a close look at its details and depth. The second room, covered in A4s, each version different with slight changes in colors, contrast, exposure, and paper. Together, they form a typology. In the last room you are met with the source image in a frame.
Three piles greet you as you exit the spaces. You are welcome to take a piece with you. What do you take away from each room? Each image? What is it you see? What do you allow yourself to see?
