The Jerome Bruner Library: From New York to Nijmegen.
This publication, designed by graduation year student Mark-Emil Poulsen (Graduated 2019), traces the path – from New York to Nijmegen – of the late psychologist and linguist Jerome Seymour Bruner's (1915-2016) library, donated to the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics [MPI]. Bruner was the chair of the MPI Research Council, which contributed to the emergence of the institute.
The book includes talks from a conference and tribute to the donation, held at the MPI, on the 8th of January 2020, and an arrangement by Mark-Emil of covers and pages gleaned from the contents of the library itself.
This publication is one of the fruits of an interest in our department in the subject and practice of linguistics, where it reaches and touches visible language.
Finally the publication makes use of the typeface 'Mimic' designed by alumni Wooseok Jang, graduated in 2018.
