Écoeuré is a fountain through which I explore and materialise my obsession with silicon and its texture. Silicone is often overlooked, used for practical purposes rather than for its unique properties. I find it beautiful in its tactile qualities, and I wanted to make it unavoidable in my work. My exploration of obsession reveals a duality of fascination and aversion. I am drawn to silicone's texture, feeling an impulse to touch it, yet I also experience discomfort, and question my attraction to it. To satisfy my cravings for silicone, I drenched the fountain in it, as I would wish to be drenched in it myself. The shape and flow of the fountain embody this obsession, allowing silicone to take on a form and texture in ways that evoke curiosity. The illusion of wetness and the liquid's movement create confusion about the material's boundaries, enhancing the viewer's experience of this duality. In creating this fountain, I sought to embrace the notion of obsession and to 'tame' silicone, to make it less foreign and perhaps make it mine.
