How can my overflowing, fleshy chaotic substance of a body be reduced to a neat chart in an infographic? When becoming an abstraction; we see a diagram of peachy organs and grass-green systems. Where the wetness and warmth of flesh are being confined to a sterile color-coded pie slice — failing to capture the emotional and personal dimensions of living in this body. And what does it even mean to be embodied by the flesh, to live out of these components and mechanisms? In ‘Giving a biology book kind of kiss’ my body’s collected data becomes the starting point to dissect, distill and deconstruct to probe its malleability.
