Aboozar Amini (1985, Afghanistan) won the Amsterdamprijs voor de Kunst for his documentary Kabul, City in the Wind. Aboozar Amini's combination of classical and conceptual cinema inspired the jury. 'His films give access to 'the other', and that is valuable in a city like Amsterdam with more than 160 different nationalities.' Aboozar Amini attended the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and obtained a master's degree in Aesthetic Language of Cinema in London.
