Doubt is part of my attitude to life, I gain a lot from it. Not knowing is, in a naive way, the start of most of my work. This naivety changes and fuels my process of making. Inside the mediums of painting, sculpture, and film. The work gains meaning step by step. Either by a gesture, statement, or action, I create an image. Observing the image, I see if I can take it further into a series of works or respond with another work. This includes the questions that I have and the doubts that pop up during the making of the work. Every decision is asking for a response and I try to be open to the balance and nuance of the image. That balance feels urgent to me.
