is a spatial installation unfolding through weaving, sound and the spectres of physical gestures. Treating material as language and language as material, this work emerges from lightly curving learned meanings. By turning an intimate eye to the tensions, misunderstandings, hidden irregularities, and the potential in bad acoustics, the work plays with gentle interference in gaps and materiality. What’s unfolded by repetition? dariya uses the plain weave, the strongest, simplest and most ancient of weaving techniques. Occasionally intervening in it, pulling at the threads, un-evening the pattern and adjusting the shape in a way that is both patient and slightly violent.

The last touch as the point of departure, repetition exhausting the body, defying function, then lifting out, surrendering to the pure sound.
