I see the sky, I see its colors. I hold my color guide against the sky. Number 2194U. I change my direction. Another perception. Number 293U. It is 10 minutes later. Number 295U. Tomorrow again. Another color, another number.

I see the gradient everywhere. A place that never rests, never defines, never states its place. Always in motion. It disappears the moment it appears. How ‘to gradient’? How to see, think, shape, color, move, print, write, be, hear, capture, let go, feel, show gradient?
I see composition. Catch a rhythm. An instant, silent choreography. Repeating shapes, but exposed instantly in a new light, time, space, creating a new meaning. It looks identical? Look closer, look further, you will see it is not. It changes. It moves, really. Close your eyes, step to the left, open your eyes and you see another landscape.
Somewhere between structure and unpredictability. I witness this endless change in a system holding it. My work shifts between these polars. It uses the golden ratio as the underlying system of the installation. The golden ratio as the inexhaustible force that carries endless nuances of the same form in set measurements. “So micro, so macro". How to shape, form, fill a system? Where does it help and where does it restrain? It comes back to this tension between control and letting go.
In analogue printing I find a way of expressing this tension. The old offset printer enables me to systematically print this subtle change in colour. Gradient falling into gradient. Time in its minute difference appears in print . No sheet is identical. Only seen all together can the transformation be perceived throughout the prints.
This story is told twice: in a visual installation and in a performance. They are two different works perceived as translations of one another. Like parallels. They are connected but independent. The performance contains dance and life music, each day performed by another musician performing the same score. The score is made after the parameters of the printing process and the installation, based on its numeric, spatial and conceptual information.
