Limbo

My graduation project is about the presence of both an older stage and the young age. The silhouettes are contrasting being young with it’s lightness and awareness of the body’s shapes, and the deformation and collaboration with gravity when growing old. Ultimately that one has all the ages present, being forever 18 and also an old lady.

In my collection I have stereotyped the way elderlies dress with the color palette, choice of fabrics and recognisable garments, most of it being second hand. Youth is being presented with bright colors and cuts revealing more body and flirts with 2003. The clash speaks about the limbo one can experience throughout life in relation to ageing.

The shoes are telling the story of the young girl waiting in a staircase for half an hour whilst the others go into the club. After her best friend has used her sisters ID it is her turn.
