During one week in September, 58 graphic design students from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie have worked on climate change in this exhibition space. The students imagined themselves to be in the year 2393. From this year they looked back at our present time and reflected on the immense consequences of global warming: from mass migrations to the development of a CO2-consuming fungus.
Rietveld Graphic Design 2017 at the Stedelijk is a cross-section of the graphic design department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. For this exhibition, a selection was made of assignments carried out by graphic design students – from first-years to recent graduated – in 2017.
Gerrit Rietveld Academie annually presents SELECTED: an exhibition with work of exceptionally talented graduates. Participants of the exhibition have all been nominated during the Graduation Show for the annual ‘GRA Awards’ by an independent jury. This year's location will be Looiersgracht 60, where the exhibition will be held from 3-11 November 2017.
