'Song of the Sanctuary is based on Vasilisa’s grandfathers poems, who she diluted contact with

because of their opposing views on the war in Ukraine. Emerging from a deep sense of

longing and hurt, this film aims to offer a way to move forward. It is a confession of love

manifested in a liminal world reminiscent of home yet devoid of life. In this world a nameless

character embarks on an emotional journey of self-discovery, each scene accompanied by

poetic quatrains deepening the narrative’s existential exploration.

“Conquering the seductive visions that soar,

I set off for home, to my sanctuary’s door,

Forgetting their frailty, lost in the fray,

As the secret enigma stretched its display.”
