Petroleumweg 3196 - Maja Wachowska
Within Petroleumweg 3196, I delve into the notion of forever contamination within the clay. My installation consists of a set of tools used for a futile act of cleansing soil I foraged from beneath a refinery. Although I use them to separate the soil from tar and form it malleable into a temporary memorial, the clay remains spoiled. It becomes a statue of invisible toxicity, perpetual impairing of the ground and what lies underneath a rainbow oil spill.
