Thesis: What is the connection between performance art, transgression and theological practices of the past?
Gender Diary (pieces #1-5)
My end exam artwork deals with the subject of gender. Through my sculptures I am expressing different thoughts and feelings I have towards womanhood and sexuality. Basing my research on archetypical symbols and myths and extending it to contemporary theories on gender identity, I create a playground where questions towards the essence of womanhood can arise.
Even though each one of my sculptures has its own story to tell, together they are part of a bigger narrative were a discussion emerges between its different parts.
