<Do You Hear Them Singing>, is an attempt to dismantle nationalist propaganda having ”Arirang” in the center. “Arirang” is a well-known traditional folklore song with 600 years of history in Korea. Thousands of variations and countless versions exist of this song, all with the common refrain: "Arirang, arirang, arariyo". Because of its long history and popularity, the song is multi-layered: Not only is it of traditional value, but it is also used for propaganda.

Can “Arirang” be honored without codes? Can we be decoded? How do we navigate ourselves in the time of algorithms?
