Particle Colonies
Particle Colonies is a 4-storey journey through an audio visual architecture. As a giant microscope, it probes into how modern ethnography slices the non-human realm into races and classes to maintain power over natural resources. The lily is one of many slaves of the plant hybridisation industry whose genetics are carefully steered to perform ever more beautiful iterations of themselves.
While our visual technics (scans, cross-sections and sight augmentation) bring the very fabric of reality ever closer to our eyes, at the same time, we can in doing so, become ever more disengaged with it. Is this indifference a human trait, or merely a by-product of our ultra-visual culture?
