The prosthesis as a metaphor and the metaphor as a prosthesis
Through sculptures and installations the human presence and absence is a recurring subject within my practise. By using sterile and synthetic material such as industrial and hospital material/aesthetics, morphed body-like (com)parts, man-made structures like grids, in a combination with organic material like mulm or weeds, I intend to point at the liminal and the other, by looking at oneself as abject, object and subject.
