Admission for bachelor (full-time & part-time)

General information

In order to study at the Rietveld Academie, you must at least have a HAVO (senior general secondary education) or MBO (senior secondary vocational education) diploma at level 4, or equivalent qualifications, at level 4 of the EQF (European Qualifications Framework). You must also have sufficient artistic talent. During the admission procedure, the Rietveld Academie will determine whether you are suitable for the academy.

All our full-time bachelor's programmes take 4 years:

  • Bachelor year 1 = 1st bachelor Basicyear;
  • Bachelor year 2 = 1st department year;
  • Bachelor year 3 = 2nd department year;
  • Bachelor year 4 = 3rd and final department year.

NOTE: Our part-time bachelor's programmes take 5 years, because the Basicyear is spread over 2 years part-time.

For information on how to apply for the bachelor programme, select either Admission Dutch Students or Admission International Students to read about our admission procedure in 2 separate rounds. And here are some useful flowcharts.
