Elephant Trails is a project by The Rietveld Society for Rietveld alumni and graduating students with all activities focused on life after the Rietveld and finding your path in the art world.
There’s not one well-paved path to becoming an experienced artist. But there are what we call in Dutch ‘olifantenpaadjes’ which can be translated to ’little elephant trails’, or the more rougher German term ‘Trampfelpfad’ (stomping path). What it means is that, when a route is non-existent, but a lot of humans or animals need it, one or more distinct trails will emerge.
With the articles in the Elephants Trails journal, guided tours and more, we highlight some of these elephant paths for you. We hope these lead to more conversations and more trails.
