'A skinny eight centimeters width of a parking garage curb, alternating shades of gray street paving, a sloped concrete bank that separates the street from an overpass. These are human interventions that support the civilized networks we adhere and cling so dear to. The socialization of the human mind produces its subjects with rules and limitations, boundaries that shouldn’t be strayed from in fear of disrupting a larger order. Permissions proposes a transformation from the serious challenges of adult life into childlike roleplay through interventions in public space.

Is it a natural development from the irresponsible child to the rational and law abiding citizen? When do we stop seeing the world built around us as something we have agency over? Have we stopped playing within our built and social environments, or do the stakes just get higher until it no longer feels like a game?
