The way things are. Smiley memories. A detour in my grandmother's house.

My grandmother’s answer to most questions is “That’s the way things are.” These words are always accompanied by a smile –a façade- I always thought that the cause of our complicated relationship was the intergenerational miscommunication and her bullheadedness. Now that I recognize that the lack of women’s individuality is a result of the patriarchal society we live in, I decided to take a detour in her house through my childhood memories.

My work is about discovering individuality through different mediums that consist of a mix of monotonous 3d renders,2d superficial smileys, and silly but personal hand drawings. Each medium makes me feel a certain way that allows me to express my thoughts but still gives space for different interpretations.
