Public Art Amsterdam is a joint initiative of eleven art institutions in Amsterdam: CBK Zuidoost, De Appel, Framer Framed, GET LOST-art route, Frankendael Foundation, LAPS / Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Stichting NDSM-werf, Oude Kerk Amsterdam, P/////AKT, Stedelijk Museum and TAAK. Pay Attention Please! is the first edition of a biennial manifestation.

Public Art Amsterdam calls attention to Amsterdam’s public space. Space we share, which is contested, full of contradictions but also of ideals. Space in a constant state of flux. The manifestation Pay Attention Please! makes this space visible through artworks, which have been placed in that public domain over the past decennia. These artworks reveal the city’s complexity, its reflections and dreams, exposing the layers of meaning which have accumulated there over time.
