From 27 October until 3 November, the Gerrit Rietveld Academie presented SELECTED: a special exhibition and Afternoon Sessions in collaboration with Rietveld graduates of 2019 at Looiersgracht 60, Amsterdam

SELECTED offered the artists an opportunity to present and share their graduation works with a wider audience. Additionally, by inviting members of the jury, various artists, lecturers, teachers and audiences to join them in the exhibition space, the artists developed a range of open Afternoon Sessions to share and expand their individual, and sometimes collaborative artistic practices and research interests. The programme was open to everyone.

In 2019, the external jury members of Autonomous Arts were Heske ten Cate (artistic director at Nest) and Martijn Hendriks (visual artist). The jury members of Applied Arts were Simone Trum of Team Thursday (graphic design studio) and Willem Velthoven (founding director of Stichting Mediamatic). The jury members of Thesis were Basje Boer (writer and filmjournalist) and Dominic van den Boogerd (art critic, art historian and former director of De Ateliers).
