Library Talks with Lotte Lara Schröder / 9 May 5 PM

Lotte Lara Schröder graduated from Graphic Design department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, and studied at Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem. She uses her graphic design skills to initiate projects in her artistic practice, resulting in sound installations, performances, and drawings. Her research revolves around ecological and natural phenomena such as volcanic energy and geomorphology, aiming to emphasise the more personal and poetic aspects of these predominantly scientific topics.

Schröder has just finished the exhibition ‘Bar’, one of the first works to emerge out of her research project Volcanic Energy, at Plan B projects in Amsterdam. Her talk of the same title ‘Volcanic Energy’ at the library will also be accompanied by a display of her work in the vitrines of the library.

The Library Talks is a series of lectures held at the library of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Sandberg Institute. Each talk revolves around a selection of books made by the speaker, assembled out of the library’s current collection as well as newly purchased books for the occasion.
