The Supervisory Board (RvT) and the Executive Board (CvB) of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy are extremely pleased with the appointment of Roosje Klap as a new member of the RvT with effect from 1 March 2024.

Roosje Klap is the founder of Atelier Roosje Klap, also known as the ARK collective. She has developed an (inter)national network in art, design, research and education, primarily in the cultural sector. With ARK as a vessel, Klap collides an interdisciplinary practice to unconventional, artistic research that stems from playful collaborations.

Career

Klap studied Graphic Design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and is conducting doctoral research on digital co-creation with machines and artificial intelligence on the ownership and authorship of contemporary art practice. She was previously active for many years as co-head of Graphic Design (BA) and Non Linear Narrative (MA) at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) and involved as an advisor at the Jan van Eyck Academy.

The Supervisory Board supervises the execution of activities and the exercise of powers by the Executive Board and advises it. The Branchecode Goed Bestuur Hogescholen forms the framework for the functioning of the Board and for the governance of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in general.

Roosje Klap takes over from Margit Lukács, who is leaving due to the expiration of her term of office.
