Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam proudly presented its annual Graduation Show, featuring work by 162 fine art and design graduates.

Once a year, the academy’s corridors and classrooms are turned into 5,800 square meters of exhibition space. Here the graduates, from fourteen specialisations, presented the thought-provoking results of their work and vision.

What to expect?

The Graduation Show provides a platform for students to present their graduation projects and marks the beginning of a new chapter in their careers as visual artists or designers.

From exuberant performances to thoughtful moments of reflection, the exhibition will engage and challenge visitors. The exhibition features a wide range of media including film, ceramics, glass, text, photography, performance, textiles, willow branches, a telenovela, a lunar lander, a nail salon, taxi cabs and more. The programme includes a series of events, including performances and readings.

An interesting addition to the side programme is the third edition of the Rietveld Review(ed). The Academy invites external experts from the art and design world to visit and reflect on the exhibition. What are the striking trends, practices and themes of this graduation year? The review, which will be available at the entrance to the exhibition and online from Saturday 8 July, will allow visitors to deepen their experience of the exhibition.
