Licks

'Licks' consists of columns of stacked salt licks (originally used for horses). The with a high-pressure water gun sculpted columns go from floor to ceiling and are organically placed in a group which makes it possible to walk around them and being surrounded by them. To be drawn to the appearance of the salt licks with its strong visual association with marble, ice blocks, teeth and bones. Kristine Bech Sørensen tickles and wonders about all these things in a sculptural installation that with its ingredients of salt and magnesium oxide, some analytical constituents and nutritional additives leaves the spectator with the more or less nauseating thought that how we see is still influenced by a whole host of tiresome assumptions.
