Shutters

An installation of 3 standing wooden window frames with transparent colourful shutters. The colonial shutter window is an icon in the Aruban culture that can be seen in traditional cunucu houses on the island, therefor I thought it would be interesting to take the window out of its original architectural context and translate it into something else. Giving it another perspective.

The Wall of Tiles

An analog rotating wooden wall with transparent tiles incorporated in it. The tiles are a reinterpretation of the colourful tiles that were manufactured in the 70's by a Portuguese family on the island of Aruba that are still present today in many Aruban homes.
