Thesis: Silent Signs In The City
"My practice emerges from a playful and attentive mode of observing the urban environment. While moving through the city, my attention is drawn less to what is designed or intentionally constructed, and more to what appears unintentionally: traces of use, decay, coincidence, and disruption. In these fragments of the everyday, meaning reveals itself not as something fixed, but as something that arises through the act of looking.
Within my work, I explore a tension between what I understand as intentional quality, associated with order, control, and architectural clarity. And a more unintentional form of quality that emerges through coincidence, error, nature and time. This form often becomes the starting point of my works, where chance is not corrected but read as material.
In my paintings and assemblages, these observations are translated into a visual language in which asemic writing and found materials play a central role. By producing signs that resist legibility, and by recontextualising objects, I create a space in which meaning remains in motion, shifting between recognition and unfamiliarity. My work does not aim toward fixed interpretation, but instead remains open. It moves between control and chance, language and silence, inviting a way of seeing that is grounded in intuition rather than explanation."
