Thesis: Blasé, or: beautysleaze, the aesthetic imperative
I present three works in different areas: under, outside, and leaning on the art institute, while needing it to survive. This double stance may help them leave the image behind, as they fully commit to uncertainty, preaching iconoclasm and overload, literalness and figuration. Wash your hands in front of everyone / Blasé consists of a four-panel painting and a polyptych of ‘decapitations’. Their marks of battle are visible as an accumulation of decisions, rejected discoveries and destruction. A diagonal crosses a boundary to the outside world. In the basement, Pornschlegel can serve as the key to a revelation that might not arrive, an exegesis which remains unresolved.
