Thesis: Words in Formation
Carla Liv works with images that demonstrate alternative environments of softness and blurriness, of fiction and reality. In her work, she meticulously investigates materials and techniques to discern the potential meaning of objects in every detail. She explores the synergy of infinity and finitude in her drawings, engaging with the poetics of fiction, cultural semiotics, and utopian feminism. Carla Liv works with shades of graphite and contours of pencil, where encounters emerge between cityscapes, graphics, surreal science, and technology. She examines and alters discarded objects by masking them in a renewed condition, thus refining and repurposing them carefully.
