I aim to make work that is at the same time affective in content and simple in form.

Work that is able to elicit emotions with next to nothing. Formal emotionality.

 

For my graduation work I was looking for a form that would generate genuine emotion in myself.

I felt the need to make something as clean and simple as possible: white squares.

Commanding, clean, clear, forceful, and thus immediately eliciting an emotional feeling.

 

The white square became that form for me. Its emptiness allows feeling.
