Both the Preparatory and Orientation Course still have places left for the upcoming year! Both are different yet great ways of getting to know and -at the end- applying to either the Gerrit Rietveld Academie or another art academy.
The Gerrit Rietveld Academie offers two preparatory trajectories:
- The Preparatory Course/Vooropleidingscursus runs during 3 weekdays over 25 weeks. The age group is 16 to 25 year old. The course is aimed at learning to reflect on your work. Participants with sufficient results are directly admitted to the Basicyear, the first year of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie’s Bachelor’s degree programme. For more information, see https://rietveldacademie.nl/en/page/394/preparatory-course
- The Orientation Course/Oriëntatiecursus runs on Saturdays over 25 weeks. The age group is 16 to 50 years old. During this course, participants can find out whether they want to pursue studying art and design. Orientation course students can attend a first round of admissions to assess whether they are ready for the Gerrit Rietveld Academie entrance examination. For more information, see https://rietveldacademie.nl/en/page/395/orientation-course
About the admission procedure
The Preparatory Course still has an admission round on 24 June, the Orientation Course still has admission rounds on 6 and 10 June. These admission rounds happen online, in which you share work you've made (including a homework assignment that we have given you) and write us about your motivation. After that, we establish if the course you signed up for is a good step for you. Hope to see you then!
