The Rietveld & Sandberg Library houses over 14 thousand books which are available for students and alumni. The collection spans different disciplines and topics such as philosophy, artists’ books and artists’ writing, social studies, and literature. Collaborations with students, departments, and other academy initiatives continuously inform the library and its collection. Next to its central collection, the library holds an archive which focuses on Rietveld and Sandberg student publications, as well as archival material about the academy and its departments.

In addition to building up and maintaining the book collection, the library focuses on generating knowledge and stimulating research by organizing a range of activities, including exhibitions, lectures, and reading groups.

The library is situated in an interior designed by the artist Nils Norman. The library signage is designed by forrmer students Geke Zaal, Sissel Vejby Møller, and Agathe Delaite.
