From A to B to Fold
"I’m sitting on a terrace on a late summer evening, while watching the waiter as he closes the parasols on the terrace. I observe how, one by one, the names of beer brands disappear between the folds of the fabric, and ultimately become illegible." From A to B to Fold consists of three textile-based sculptural elements, dealing with the inherent sensitivity of things to the passing of time, the natural elements, (careless) human gestures, and interpretation. It aims to simulate these processes and to capture the moment when things become illegible, or unrecognisable as such. In other words, the work focuses on the ‘in between state’ of things: in between shapes, moments in time, making sense and non-making sense, conveying and not conveying certain information.
