Thesis: From "Obsolete objects in the literary imagination" to obsolete objects in other forms of art
EEG project Figures of speech
My work is a research which explores the codependency of text and 3D objects (mostly jewelry). My main project is focused on hospital waste made of precious material, in particular the electrodes used for EEG. The preciousness as well as the obsolescence of this material, and the relation to a human body allows a language that recalls those of relics. The extreme immateriality of the bodily connection to the object - the thread as temporary container for electrical impulses which are thoughts and dreams - allows a wider reflection on the topic, which makes estensive use of storytelling, historical references, reflection on jewelry itself and on language as a material tool.
