Precious burden

Having a mental disability is very difficult in its own right and to cope with it while dealing with daily life routines is next to impossible without support and compassion from people around you. A big part of how easy or hard the life of someone with a mental disability is, relies on other people's understanding and actions. People with mental disabilities are often not properly understood or respected in our society so as an autistic designer, I feel obliged to contribute as much as I can with bringing knowledge to people in a way that can create compassion for the people who are dealing with it. I think it will empower me and maybe other people with mental disabilities to see and feel that we exist, that our mental disability won't be a closet that we have to hide in. With my set of objects I am trying to show a glimpse of what it means to be autistic.
