Thesis: Humanimal

1. Long arms and giant fists. Conveying resilience and determination. The exaggerated features, not muscled body and somewhat awkward power pose could be seen as a cynical commentary on the heroic and divine ideals that Greek sculptures represent. For me, it represents regaining the power of my hands and wrist after losing it for over a year due to CTS.

2. A giant figure in a fetal position, with a small human face. Exploring the theme of vulnerability and wanting to provoke certain emotions, like comfort and tenderness. But also playing with the uncanny feeling this figure may convey to the viewer. How do these conflicting emotions, comfort and discomfort, play out and how does the viewer position itself towards the figure?
