Comfort Ball is an art collective/ happening/ action, exploring Asian food as a tool to give voice to Asian female emotional labourers. They find parallels between being an emotional care labourer and being an Asian woman in European countries: both are often fantasized about and alienated. By counter-fantasizing a fictional neither utopic or dystopic scenery made out of different Asian ingredients ‘unfamiliar’ in other places, they catch and stress the gaze of fetishization and ignorance.
