During the summer term of 2024 I was an exchange student in the designLAB department.
Here I was able to immerse myself in new design approaches and languages, and meet different and new opinions.
I worked more experimentally with a playful approach to tasks and project ideas. Coming from Hamburg, I study at the Hochschule für bildende Künste 'HFBK' as part of the 'Studio Experimental Design'. Here my projects are developed spatially and participatively with the future users.
The 'octopus of random directions' was developed for the legendary annual DesignLAB car race. It was inspired by the new directions and fields I was introduced to at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
The ceramic purse is a self-chosen project with the aim of getting to know the material and experiencing the different steps of forming, firing, glazing and printing on ceramics.
I developed the dice game as part of a 'Rhino' course.
The task was to design a new product using the 3D programme, and I wanted to create a game that would encourage people to spend time together. The weather resistance of the material also makes it possible to play outdoors.
For an other rhino class, we had to design a chess game. In my design practice, I take a critical look at hierarchies. That's why I designed the chess set so that players can print out any photos (in passport photo format) and attach them to the pieces and the different hierarchy levels.
You can download the pieces free of charge via this link and print them out with a 3D printer.
