By the river at my father’s

Ballpoint pen and pencil on paper

Emilia Omilianowicz (The Large Glass)

Emilia Omilianowiczs’s drawings portray themes and scenes she believes she encountered while visiting her father’s house on the edge of a national park – a place especially inviting for diving into one’s own paranoia, full of things that might have been real and situations that might have happened. The surrounding is as idyllic as it is spooky, with plenty of devils, goats, stars, and socks. The ‘might-have-beens’ challenge Omilianowicz’s perception of imagination and reality, an unsureness of the real that fuels her view of the world’s wilderness.
