The glass workshop offers facilities with guidance for blowing, hot casting, kiln casting, bending, cutting, drilling, grinding, polishing, sandblasting, printing and painting (emaille) on glass. Workshop manager Marie de Bruyn gives personal instructions and supervises students working on projects. The workshop is associated with The Large Glass department, but is also accessible to students from other departments by appointment.
Technical classes are given to the students of the glass department to create the possibility for them to be able to understand the material and work independently with it in accordance to their own projects. After three years they will have a good knowledge of the possibilities of the material and depending on their personal interest a basic or advanced skill level. Once a year there is a contact moment for the Basicyear students to get to know the department and create an understanding of the material.
