Dérive
In the work Dérive, Iwant to introduce the Theory of the Dérive by Guy Debord through giving a small introduction on the theory and ask the audience to practise this. Dérive as in to drift; atechnique of rapid passage through varies ambiences, preferably in the urban landscape. Let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the terrain.
I developed this work as part of weaving class. For me practising Dérivesuits well with a perspective that can also be adapted to weaving, as you are weaving a landscape and your surroundings. It can transform your way of looking whilst you gain control over how to perceive and involving yourself physically, which is similar to my experience of the process of weaving.
