1. What are you currently working on?
“I'm weathering in Singapore at the moment, which backdrops everything I'm doing. At the department, I'm assisting our graduating students with a 700-page publication titled 'Takeaway' — an eclectic mix of contributions where they share and discuss their work these past months. There's an introspective quality that runs through them, and care for how things are delivered in form and made public — so proud.

Concurrently, I'm working on a few commissions, and taking time to look at Singapore and things in my family home.”
2. What has changed for you now that the Rietveld buildings are closed for classes and meetings?
“For my job, everything's moved to e-mail and Zoom—it's logistically fine but feels more rigid. For me, there's much less spontaneity in how an interaction might take place, how something might be implicitly taught and learnt just by chance, loitering, overhearing, etc."
3. And what is staying the same?
“At the moment, I'm doing same-esque work and have same-esque obligations as pre-lockdown. It's in the motivation and the doing that feels really different.”
4. Do you have a tip for our students, staff or alumni to make these isolating times a little bit more joyful?
“Rachel Cargle's work at https://www.instagram.com/thegreatunlearn/. Solange's When I get Home. Ruth Ozeki's A Tale for the Time Being. Perhaps more hopeful than joyful.”
