On Expectations
open - The promising velvet curtains slide to the side only to reveal an illuminated stage. Gradually the excitement that has been building up crumbles under the weight of great expectations. As I walk across the empty scene it becomes apparent that no play will be performed…
closed - When seeing life as a stage, there is never only one role to be played. Some days I wake up playing an infant, some days an old woman and on other days I play the part of someone else. But on this day I find my body has dissolved into the green surface surrounding me.
open -
closed - Only as the velvet curtains are drawn characters of hope and doubt appear and swirl together and make their remarks on expectations.
